Carbohydrates Stimulate Your Appetite!
They Rev it Up!
“Bet you can’t eat just one!”
To test this, in the extreme, enjoy a cherry Danish or two with your morning coffee. Experience the sugar spike, crash-and-burn roller coaster.
More subtly, enjoy your morning yogurt, granola and fruit for one breakfast, or nibble that whole wheat bagel with Jiff peanut butter and honey.
Now, on another morning, eat an avocado instead, or a couple of pieces of leftover chicken. Unusual, I know, but at the end of each day reflect upon what you consumed over the course of the WHOLE DAY, wake-up until bedtime.
I’ve found that ingesting carbs, in any form, at any time, increased my hunger for eating more, later. Whereas, eating a “good” fat or protein was more satisfying. Food thoughts demanded less of my attention during those days. I ate less.
I just wasn’t as hungry.
Along this way of thinking, I slowly developed a collection of snacks that controlled my appetite. My top two snacks are on this site. If you are interested, I have more to share.
You will find these treats to be tasty, vital, inspiring, and sometimes odd. Hopefully, these snack recipes will be another small encouragement for you to continue to improve your diet and health. Healthy snack emails will not come every day. Heck, I don’t come up with proven new snacks that often, but when I do send a message, it’s meant to be useful.
OK, I can use more ideas. Tell me more.
